Marisa Mahler, Psy.D, is a licensed psychologist who provides short-term and long-term therapy to children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Mahler
graduated cum laude from Yeshiva University and was awarded a Presidential Fellowship working for the Office of the Provost. Upon completing her fellowship, she went on to earn her doctorate in clinical psychology from Long Island University, where she served as Co-President of the Doctoral Student Association. She was also awarded a Service Disparity Fellowship for working with underserved populations. Dr. Mahler completed her pre-doctoral internship at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center and her postdoctoral fellowship at Premier Psychology Services. 

Dr. Mahler has worked with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of outpatient and inpatient settings, including New York University Child Study Center, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, St. Barnabas Hospital, SUNY Purchase Counseling Center, Leake and Watts Services, Inc., as well as in private practice.

Trained in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapies, Dr. Mahler has undergone additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a mindfulness-based behavioral therapy. In addition to her psychology training and experience, Dr. Mahler holds an M.A. in Education from Yeshiva University and has extensive teaching experience.

Dr. Mahler has presented and published research on the role of group leaders conducting group therapy with adolescents. Her doctoral dissertation examined the relationship between therapist behavior and group climate in working with aggressive adolescents. 
Dr. Mahler has been featured as a psychology expert in various publications, including Scary Mommy, Pilates Style, Psychcentral.com, The Examiner, H Texas and The Jewish Link. Dr. Mahler is co-director of Camper Care at Ramah Day Camp in Nyack.
